James L. Myers, Senior Associate
James Myers’ path to becoming an attorney began far from a traditional law office. After spending more than a decade working quite literally in the agricultural fields, James became the person others turned to when problems arose. Whether it was safety concerns, injuries, or personnel issues, he found himself naturally stepping into a problem-solving role. That calling crystallized when his wife encouraged him to attend a law forum at a nearby law school. Seeing law as a way to better provide for his family and serve others, James knew he had found his next chapter.
With over twelve years of hands-on experience in agriculture, James brings a rare and valuable perspective to his Workers’ Compensation practice. During his time in the fields, he served as both safety lead and HR representative for thousands of field workers, gaining firsthand knowledge of workplace injuries, seasonal employment issues, and the realities employers face. That background now informs every case he handles, allowing him to anticipate challenges early and guide clients through claims with clarity and efficiency.
James’ approach to Workers’ Compensation is rooted in a simple principle: the Golden Rule. Whether a claim is accepted or denied, he believes in being direct, transparent, and decisive always with the goal of moving cases toward resolution as efficiently as possible. He is known for developing clear plans of action at the outset of a case, helping clients make informed decisions and minimizing prolonged exposure and uncertainty.
A results-driven advocate, James has successfully resolved countless cases across a wide range of exposures. Most recently, he negotiated a settlement reducing a demand of over $2 million to $425,000 in September 2025, following effective use of video surveillance. His experience spans claims ranging from modest exposures to complex, high-stakes matters, and his success in achieving favorable resolutions has often eliminated the need for trial.
James earned his Juris Doctor from San Joaquin College of Law in May 2000 and has spent nearly five decades living within twelve miles of his childhood home in California. Having also lived in Colorado and New Jersey, he values the strong community ties that have kept him rooted in the Central Valley. He regularly appears in FRE, BAK, and STO venues and has represented clients throughout California via video appearances.
Outside of work, James is deeply committed to his family and his community. He is actively involved in his church and serves with the local Lions Club when time permits. These values, service, integrity, and responsibility carry through every aspect of his professional practice.
